Stats & Skill Gain
When you are new, you will notice that you have a small red wax seal on your screen. When you click on this seal a scroll will open up showing things like: Level, Exp to next level, SkillCap, Hunger, Thirst, Str, Dex, Int and Hits. This is your status window that will show you all the perks of leveling up. To start you will have a Skill Cap of 100, Strength of 30, Dexterity of 10, Intelligence of 1, Hunger and Thirst of 40. As you gain experience points from Killing Monsters, Completing Quests, and Crafting, you will gain levels. You will also gain Stat Points that you can spend across your basic stats like Strength, Dexterity and Hits. You will notice that Intelligence cannot be added to at all. This is because you are going to have to reach level 10 and choose the profession of mage, which we will cover in more detail later. Along with the Stat Points, your Skill Cap will increase by 10 points with each level. Every 10 levels you will gain a bonus to your Skill Cap As well. Spend your Stat Points wisely though, as you plan out what type of fighter you are planning on becoming, as the choice is only reversable with a special item that will be covered later. Armours have been revamped as well, and require specific Strength to handle. You will notice that you will not be able to handle many armours before you have gained a few levels and have at least 40 Strength. So plan out your path and start working to your goal. Just remember that it will take time to reach it. With a scaling Skill Cap, you will be able to cope with better Skill Gains as you gain levels, and be able to diversify as well. However, at the start you should pick two main skills that you will use to gain your levels. Many choose one Fighting Skill (Swordsmanship, Fencing, Mace Fighting) and Healing as thier starting skills to get to 50.0. Many skills can be trained to 40.0 at the Newbie Quest Givers around New Haven and there are many accelerated skill gain locations throughout the island. When you hit Level 30 you will gain another great point. You will gain a Class Point, where you can choose from one of the four classes we have in Survival. These four are The Warrior, The Mage, The Rogue, and The Artisan. We will cover Class Advancements in a later tome as well so please continue reading. Now that you know all the basics of Stats and Skill Gains, you can head to the wisp above us here, and say the magical words gains to be brought to the next area.
